Privacy Policy

Information Beauty collects

Beauty does not collect your documents, contacts, or search history. The native apps do not collect app usage analytics. The website and browser app use the traffic and performance measurements described below. Beauty does not contain advertising SDKs.

Optional Beauty Maximus purchase

For the optional Beauty Maximus subscription, Apple processes purchases and RevenueCat processes an anonymous customer identifier, transaction details, and subscription status to validate and manage access, prevent purchase fraud, and provide subscription analytics. This purchase history is not linked to your real-world identity and is not used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat does not receive your notes or images. Beauty disables RevenueCat's automatic device-identifier collection and diagnostic reporting.

Your documents

Notes and imported images are stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad, the app encrypts its private library at rest with a key held by the operating system's secure storage. Files you deliberately export or place in a shared folder are stored wherever you choose and are governed by that destination's privacy practices.

On-device search

Search queries and search processing stay on your device. Beauty builds a local index from your library to find matching notes; it does not send your notes or queries to a remote search service. Persisted search caches are encrypted with device-bound storage and are kept outside the synced library. Each device builds its own search data.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable Beauty Maximus sync, notes, folders, images, version history, and page preferences are stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's services. This data is governed by your Apple account settings and Apple's privacy practices. Beauty does not operate a document storage server or receive a copy of your synced library.

Optional AI connections on Mac

Beauty includes an optional local connection for compatible AI desktop clients. When you enable access, the connected client can request content from your local library. You separately control whether it may change notes, and you can turn access off in Beauty. Beauty must remain open for the connection to work.

A connected client may send the content it receives to its own service provider. Review that client's privacy policy and settings before enabling access. The on-device search described above does not require this connection.

Photos and files

Beauty asks for access only when you choose a photo or file to place in a document or open in the editor. Selected content is processed on your device. Beauty does not upload it to us.

Optional collaboration

If you create or join a collaborative session, Beauty uses a random invitation token and connection services to help invited devices find one another. Those services may process network information, such as an IP address, only as needed to establish the live connection. Document edits are encrypted in transit and exchanged with the people you invite. We do not operate a server that stores your collaborative documents.

Website and browser app analytics

The Beauty website and browser app use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure visits and page performance. These services collect page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, approximate location, and performance measurements. They do not use advertising cookies or receive your notes or images. The browser app removes query strings and URL fragments, including collaboration invitation tokens, from reported URLs.

Vercel may also process ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver the service and protect it. Learn more about Vercel Web Analytics privacy and Speed Insights privacy.

Children

Beauty is a general-purpose writing tool and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
