Choose the format for the reader

Markdown is compact, editable, and easy to keep in a folder. PDF serves a different purpose: it records a rendered page so the recipient can read it without configuring a Markdown renderer.

Use PDF for a proposal, a meeting summary, a handout, or a document being reviewed in a fixed form. Keep the Markdown original for revisions. A PDF is the delivered copy; the source is where the next edit should begin.

Beauty also exports HTML. That can be useful for a rendered document in a web workflow, while Markdown remains the best choice when someone else will continue editing the text.

Prepare the note before exporting

Give the document a clear title and a small number of meaningful headings. Check that lists belong under the right heading, tables are not wider than they need to be, and images have loaded correctly.

Long code lines and large diagrams deserve extra attention. A line that fits comfortably in a scrolling editor may not fit a printed page. Shorten lines where possible, simplify diagrams, or separate a large explanation into smaller parts.

Export from Beauty

1. Open the note you want to send and review its content in the editor.
2. Open Save & export, choose PDF, then select Export PDF.
3. Save or share the generated file using the options your platform presents. In a browser, choose the PDF destination in the print dialog when it opens.
4. Open the PDF itself and check the result before sending it.

The surrounding save and share controls differ between Mac, phones, and browsers. The important check is always the same: inspect the generated file, rather than assuming the editor's current viewport is the finished page.

Check the page you are about to send

Open the PDF and look for the details that change the reading experience: a heading stranded at the bottom of a page, a table that has become too small, a cropped image, or a long code line that no longer fits.

Confirm that the title is correct and that any links the reader needs remain useful. If the document includes formulas or a diagram, inspect those in the exported file too. Exported output is the evidence of how a particular document renders.

If you revise the Markdown after checking the PDF, export a new copy. Give the delivered file a name that makes its purpose clear, and keep older versions only when they are useful to the recipient.

Keep an editable original

On Mac, Beauty's local library keeps the Markdown file on disk. In the browser, export an editable copy of important work as well as the PDF. Browser storage is local to that browser profile and can be cleared.

For documents with assets, preserve the library or an export that includes what the note needs. A finished PDF is useful for reading, but it should not become the only surviving version of writing you plan to change.
